AusAID assists the Australian and overseas development research community in the production and dissemination of quality research materials. AusAID also supports research projects in partnership with other agencies and donors.

Asian–Pacific Economic Literature

Asian–Pacific Economic Literature has been published by the Asia Pacific School of Economics and Management at the Australian National University. The journal includes literature reviews, policy review papers, book reviews and abstracts of journal articles on all aspects of development in the Asia–Pacific region. APEL Online offers free access to pre-published version of articles of the Asian–Pacific Economic Literature journal.

Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies

AusAID and the Australian National University jointly fund the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies which is produced by the ANU Indonesia Project, located in the Arndt–Corden Department of Economics at the Crawford School of Economics and Government. The Bulletin is a refereed journal that has been in continuous publication since 1965. It provides a well–respected outlet for high–quality research on any and all matters pertaining to the Indonesian economy. The Journal’s impact factors for 2008 and 2009 were 1.276 and 0.613 respectively.

Networks

East Asian Bureau of Economic Research

The East Asian Bureau of Economic Research is a forum for high–quality economic research focussing on issues facing the economies of East Asia. It comprises representatives from Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia.

Development Studies Network

The Development Studies Network is an independent organisation which encourages discussion and widespread exchange of knowledge of global social and economic development issues, development–related research, and international development assistance policy and practice. The Development Bulletin is the Network's journal on significant and topical development issues. AusAID has provided funding for editions of the Development Bulletin on topics relevant to AusAID's program and policy priorities, such as gender and disability.

Global Development Network (GDN)

The Global Development Network is a network of research and policy institutes that develop and promotes policy–relevant research capacity in developing and transition countries. GDN activities include research competitions, global research projects, annual conferences and an internet–based resource (GDNet) that provides online tools and services to support researchers from developing countries in their work and to help disseminate their research. AusAID is a major supporter of the GDN.

The Global Development Network incorporates 10 Regional Network Partners located in both developing and developed countries. Australia is located within the Oceania Development Network (ODN) with the South Asia Network of Economic Research Institutes (SANEI) and East Asian Development Network (EADN) also active in our region.
